How to use LegalPath on Android: from public cases to a first consultation

A practical walkthrough of browsing public cases, checking lawyer profiles and preparing your first consultation in LegalPath.

LegalPath helps you move from reading about a legal problem to a more focused conversation with a lawyer. This guide covers the Android app’s browsing and consultation flow, plus the information worth preparing before you send a message.

1. Start with the region, then browse

Open the app and check the selected country or region. Public cases and lawyer profiles can be browsed without signing in. Read the issue, relevant dates and jurisdiction before deciding whether a case resembles your situation. A familiar headline is a starting point for questions, not a prediction of your outcome.

The website’s language setting changes the language of the blog. It does not change the law that applies to a dispute. Likewise, an English article about an English judgment does not establish that the app has a lawyer available in England and Wales.

2. Read the lawyer’s profile

Look at the profile, practice areas, listed region and published case information. Check that these match the place and type of problem you need help with. Availability depends on the profiles actually displayed. A case discussed on this blog may come directly from an official court source and may not be listed in the app.

3. Prepare a short first message

Draft three parts before opening a consultation:

  • What happened: the main events in date order, with facts separated from assumptions.
  • What you have: for example, the contract, relevant messages and payment records.
  • What you want to ask: the next step, a deadline you are worried about, or the scope of possible assistance.

For example: “I received a termination notice on [date]. I have my contract and the notice. I would like to understand which documents you need and whether any deadline needs attention.” This is a writing example, not an assessment of a real dispute.

4. Sign in and complete the consultation checks

Registration and consultations are for people aged 18 or over. Before the first consultation, sign in, provide your real name and complete the required legal confirmations shown in the app. Use the instructions displayed in your current app version for the exact steps.

Consultations support text, images and PDF files, with a 20 MiB limit per file. Share only relevant material you are entitled to provide. Keep the original documents and avoid sending passwords or verification codes.

5. Confirm the service arrangements

Sending a message does not by itself create a formal engagement or representation relationship. Discuss scope, fees and arrangements separately with the lawyer or firm. If your matter has an imminent deadline, explain the date clearly; do not assume a message has been read or that representation has been accepted.
